Christa from 102.3 WBAB, 106.1 BLI met with Lisa Meyer-Fertal, Executive Director of EEDA, to speak on EEDA's upcoming 30th Anniversary Celebration on June 1, at Atlantis Aquarium located in Riverhead, and the significance of National Disabilities Awareness Month.
When asked to explain who EEDA is and what they stand for, Lisa stated, "East End Disability Associates is a nonprofit human service organization that has a focus supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We've been around since 1993, in the Riverhead area, and have really focused on providing services to the East End of Long Island."
EEDA, an affiliate partner of the Kinexion Network, is located at 107 Roanoke Ave, Riverhead, NY 11901, and you can contact their Main Office Building by telephone at (631) 369 - 7345, or by sending an email to info@eed-a.org. Christa then had asked Lisa for EEDA's mission statement, and to explain how they have evolved over the 30 years in this business. Lisa responded with, "Our mission is to provide the most practical solutions and support to people with disabilities. Our mission statement is... 'Dedicated to creating practical solutions and providing innovative supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on the East End of Long Island'."
